Lore & Background

Tielemans arrived initially on a loan deal that saw Adrien Silva move to Monaco. He completed a permanent transfer in July 2019, scoring his first goal for the club in a 3–1 win over Fulham shortly after joining. His tenure included a controversial high challenge on Callum Wilson against Bournemouth in August 2019, which referees' chief Mike Riley later ruled should have resulted in a red card. He remained with Leicester until June 2023, leaving upon the expiry of his contract following the club's relegation from the Premier League.

In Their Own Story

On 15 May 2021, Tielemans scored the only goal of the FA Cup Final against Chelsea with a long-range strike in the 63rd minute. This goal secured Leicester City their first ever FA Cup title. He was named man of the match and subsequently won both the Supporters' Player of the Year and Players' Player of the Year awards at the club.

Reader's Guide

Tielemans joined Leicester City on 31 January 2019, initially as a loanee before signing a four-year permanent deal for £32 million in July. He made his debut goal contribution in March 2019 against Fulham. His time at the club was defined by his role in the 2021 FA Cup triumph and consistent appearances until his departure in June 2023 after Leicester's relegation.
